Master Time and Work for CAT 2026 with practice questions and detailed explanations

CAT 2025

Time & Work (including Work and Efficiency problems) is a standard arithmetic topic. Together with TSD, it forms the backbone of motion and work problems.

CAT almost always has 1–2 questions on Time/Work:

  • CAT 2017: Likely had a couple (folded under “arithmetic”).
  • CAT 2018: Work-rate questions contributing to its arithmetic count.
  • CAT 2019: Explicitly mentioned among “Percentages, TSD, Time and Work, etc.” with a large number of questions.
  • CAT 2020: Each slot had about 4–5 questions from the combined Time, Distance & Work category.
  • CAT 2021: Around 3 per slot.
  • CAT 2022–2023: Around 2–3 per slot.

Thus, 2–4 questions per year are typically from Time/Work. It’s a high-yield topic within arithmetic, consistently present every year.
