Prof Opto tells you whether you have it, hints when you are off, and only teaches the line after you have tried. At the end you get a written analysis of how you read, not just how you scored.
Yes. You need a free Optima Learn account to start a session, because your skill map builds up across passages and has to be saved against you. There is no payment required to use it.
Two places. The better one is a passage from a mock you have already taken on Optima Learn — that brings its real questions, the official answer key and the answers you gave under time pressure, so the analysis can compare your reading against your actual attempt. You can also paste any passage, and optionally its questions and key, from anywhere else.
No, and that is the point. You get up to three attempts on each unit. A wrong answer gets you a hint that points at the sentence or the shift you missed. Only after you have tried does Prof Opto give you the line — and then he tells you which reading habit caused the miss.
Yes. Sessions support voice, so you can read the paragraph out loud and explain it out loud, which is closer to how you actually read in the exam. Typing works exactly the same way if you would rather not talk.
It is a chain, drawn left to right, of the things RC is actually made of: knowing what a sentence is doing, whose view it is, what the paragraph adds up to, where to look, and how each question type breaks. Each box turns green, amber or red based on every session you have done — not one passage — so a red box on the left explains the wrong answers on the right.
A whole-passage session is closest to mock pace and is the quickest. Paragraph by paragraph takes longer because you explain each paragraph before moving on, and sentence by sentence is the slowest and deepest — worth it when you keep losing the thread inside a paragraph. You can leave mid-session and pick the same passage back up later.
No. Timed sets tell you how many you got. This tells you why you missed them. Use the analyser on a passage you got wrong in a mock, fix the habit it surfaces, then go back to timed sets.
