How the numbers and the verdict are worked out

We project your salary month by month for the next 10 years on two paths: staying in your current track, and taking CAT, studying for two years and joining at the median salary of each group of B-schools. Fees, loan interest and the salary you give up while studying are subtracted. The point where the MBA path's total earnings overtake the other is your break-even.

First-job medians for undergraduate colleges come mostly from NIRF 2026 filings (the 2024-25 batch) and official placement reports. MBA salaries are each school group's median final placement. If your college isn't listed, our AI estimates it against comparable colleges and tells you how confident it is.

Because you earn nothing for two years and pay fees. Almost every MBA is behind at year 5. What matters is how fast you catch up after graduating, which is why we show the 10-year gain and the break-even point.

We run your Class 10, 12 and graduation marks, category, gender and work experience through each school's own shortlisting formula and last year's cut-offs, the same engine as our CAT percentile predictor.

The numbers are a fixed calculation, so the same profile always gets the same figures. An AI analyst then reads those numbers with your reasons for wanting an MBA and writes the verdict, including whether CAT is the right route for you at all.
