CATWhat carries over

Already preparing for CAT?

Most NMAT takers are. Here's what carries over, and what the pack adds.

CAT prep already covers

Arithmetic, algebra, data interpretation, verbal ability and logical reasoning: NMAT's syllabus sits inside CAT's.

NMAT adds

Tight section timers (28 minutes for 36 language questions), no going back once a section ends, and scores on a different scale, out of 360.

Not CATWhere takers trip

How NMAT is not CAT

The things CAT takers trip on.

1

You pick the section order at the start. Each section has its own timer, you can't go back once you leave, and spare time doesn't carry over.

2

Up to three attempts a year, at least 15 days apart, but NMIMS counts only your first.

3

No negative marking and scaled scores (36 to 360), so answer everything.

4

You book your own slot, and the official score arrives within 48 hours.

5

NMIMS doesn't accept home-proctored scores, so take it at a test centre if you want NMIMS.

Not sure which exams to write?
